I travel, a lot, and I can reveal, unsurprisingly, that the planet, very often, doesn’t look half as good as it’s portrayed on Instagram. We conveniently leave out all the pollution, poverty and degradation because it doesn’t fit in with our finely tweaked idea of instaperfect. This is incredibly unhealthy, not only for our collective psyche, but for the wellbeing and future survival of our planet home.
However, let take a look at who being childish here. You labeled Mary a stepmother, cite her history of addiction as a moral failing and fault her for wanting to take care of her husband. I agree with you. In other words, organizations seem much more willing to bet on effort than on talent.So what do we actually know about the relationship between talent and effort? Is it ultimately more important to be able to get better at something than to be naturally good at it to begin with? On the one hand, there clearly a natural tension between both qualities; one can be understood without the other. Indeed, talent is essentially performance minus effort: The more talented you are, the less effort you have to put in to reach a certain level of performance.
